Performance & Party with Brontez Purnell @ SHACK15
Join us at SHACK15 for the FINAL inaugural SHACK15 Artist Fellow activation.
For the final activation of the inaugural SHACK15 Art Prize cohort, Brontez Purnell takes over the evening with a live performance, music, and a party celebrating the close of the Fellowship’s first year—and his recent birthday.
Brontez Purnell scrawls lipstick across mirrors, Xeroxes his own image, and writes confessions across nude self-portraits that refuse easy categorization. The celebrated writer, musician, dancer, and performance artist creates visual works that bleed memoir into performance, truth into fiction—kinetic spaces where facile notions of identity shatter and get pieced back together through punk provocation and personal reckoning.
The evening will feature a performance by Purnell, followed by a live DJ set. Moving between performance, sound, dance, and collective celebration, the event reflects the unruly, multidisciplinary spirit at the center of Purnell’s practice.
Join us for a closing celebration, a birthday party, and a night of performance and music with one of the Bay Area’s most singular artistic voices.
Each RSVP includes two complimentary drinks at the bar.
About the SHACK15 Art Prize
The SHACK15 Art Prize, curated in partnership with ArtBae, represents an unprecedented investment in the Bay Area’s cultural future, offering $20,000 fellowships to seven regional artists to create new work culminating in a group exhibition during SF Art Week 2026.
