Join us at SHACK15 for the FINAL SHACK15 Artist Fellow activation where Brontez Purnell will taks over the evening with a poetry reading, music, and a party celebrating the close of the Fellowship’s first year, and his recent birthday.

Brontez Purnell scrawls lipstick across mirrors, Xeroxes his own image, and writes confessions across nude self-portraits that refuse easy categorization. The celebrated writer, musician, dancer, and performance artist creates visual works that bleed memoir into performance, truth into fiction—kinetic spaces where facile notions of identity shatter and get pieced back together through punk provocation and personal reckoning.

The evening will move from poetry into live music and dancing, reflecting the unruly, multidisciplinary spirit at the heart of Purnell’s practice.

Join us for this closing celebration with one of the Bay Area’s most singular artistic voices.

Run of Show

Shack15 is located on the 2nd floor of the ferry building. Please use the elevator to come to the 2nd floor in the ferry building’s “Office Lobby” - located underneath the giant clock tower, on the left side of the main market entrance.
