Susan Almazol: Embracing the Edges of Time @ Richmond Art Center

Embracing the Edges of Time is a multi-faceted project led by artist Susan Almazol. Through an exhibition, movement and writing workshops, and a public dance performance, the project explores aging as a time for curiosity, openness, and growth.

At the heart of the project is a series of Almazol’s self portraits, which she began at age 71. The work documents her journey through self-acceptance and reflects her changing relationship with her body, embracing it with reverence and trust in place of criticism and rejection.
