Eiko Nishida: Between Hours @ Kala Art Institute–Milvia/Addison Windows
Between Hours is an ongoing monoprint series—each piece a one‑of‑a‑kind work—exploring the emotional and perceptual shifts that occur during travel, arrival, and liminal time, as well as remembering loved ones no longer with us, feelings that often surface in the quiet space above the clouds. Each print captures a moment within a dusk‑to‑dawn spectrum and other nuanced times, sequenced by colour temperature and atmosphere, as well as the sensations and emotions that arise. This series reflects on anticipation and stillness, and while rooted in the artist’s own experience, it invites viewers to let their thoughts wander—toward their travels, remembered loved ones, and moments of sentiment in their own way.
