Natalia Brizuela and Julia Bryan-Wilson, cocurators of Lotty Rosenfeld: Disobedient Spaces, discuss the exhibition, examining Rosenfeld’s approach to art under authoritarianism, feminist strategies for disobedience, materiality and ephemerality, and performance and video.

Natalia Brizuela is the Class of 1930 Chair, Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies, and Professor of Spanish & Portuguese and Film & Media at UC Berkeley.

Julia Bryan-Wilson is Professor of Art History at Columbia University and a widely published author. As Curator-at-Large at the Museu de Arte de Sao Paulo, she co-organized the exhibitions Women’s Histories, Histories of Dance, and Queer Histories. She was a 2019 Guggenheim Fellow.
