B Colleen: They Stem and They Bloom @ Root Division

B Colleen is a multidisciplinary Mexican-American artist and educator based in Oakland, California. They work across painting, photo processes, and installation, with a current affinity for India ink. B holds a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art from San Francisco State University and has exhibited work in the Bay Area.

Artist Statement

My multidisciplinary practice navigates identity and self acceptance, depicting daydreams that act as spaces for both escape and reflection. My process is a meditative search for being and belonging, a ritual rooted in gratitude and mindfulness. Color abstraction and motif help me walk the line between daydream and reality, drawn to lavender as a symbol of healing in an overstimulating world.
