Embroidery of a boy blissed out on a sunlit afternoon by Angelo Vasta, ceramics of women in lush festive fits by Maryam Yousif and pastoral scenes that oscillate between memory and mischief painted by Will Gabaldon and Jennie Ottinger (respectively), will all greet you in this show which feels less like a thesis and more like a toast. About the Exhibition

Lucky Number Seven,’ a group exhibition celebrating 7 years of the gallery, opens on TUESDAY 30 JUNE from 5 to 7pm. The show will mark the first time the gallery has highlighted their entire program of represented artists, as well as close ongoing relationships within our larger artist community.

Opening on 16 May 2019, Rebecca Camacho Presents debuted in a boutique-scale space on Sutter Street at Jones, amidst the buzz of downtown San Francisco. Seven years in, after a litany of unprecedented global events, the gallery continues to flourish amidst a new space in the city’s Jackson Square neighborhood, adding to the cultural vitality of the Bay Area arts
community while simultaneously engaging within national and international conversations.

Seven colors in a rainbow, seven notes in a scale, seven wonders of the world and seven celestial bodies, God resting on the seventh day and seven deadly sins. The number seven is a globally significant, often mystical number symbolizing completeness, perfection, wisdom, and good fortune, appearing across religions, nature, ancient cultures, and throughout modern culture as well. In numerology, seven represents the seeker and truth, while psychology notes the brain’s “Magical Number Seven” for short-term memory.

‘Lucky Number Seven’ as an exhibition acts as a joyous balm to troubling times, honoring the work and energy of an ever-growing community of artists that have thrived hand in hand with the gallery, and drawing upon the luck and mystical qualities of the gallery’s seventh year to buoy us all into the future.
